First Volunteer Bank has been working all hours to provide loans through the Small Business Administration’s Paycheck Protection Program (PPP), approving 556 loan applications totaling $50,367,081.12 in just one week to help our local businesses save jobs.
“We are proud to be playing a critical role in the survival of our small business customers,” said Patti Steele, president and CEO of First Volunteer Bank. “Our team members have been working around the clock to get these loan applications processed. We know our small businesses need help and we will be there for them throughout the entire forgiveness journey.”
“Our bank came together in response to this crisis. You had your offense and defense working together to get the job done. We did our part to help our communities and customers live and survive this,” explained Josh Wilson, senior vice president, underwriting manager.
“At times, it was hectic and stressful, but we persevered and helped a lot of customers, and people dependent on their paycheck from their employer, more than we will ever know. It’s been a pleasure to be a part of something much greater than ourselves” said Joseph Snyder, credit officer at First Volunteer Bank.
It is expected that more money will be allotted in the coming weeks and First Volunteer Bank stands ready to do our part.
